Water scarcity is the lack of sufficient available water resources to meet water needs within a region. It affects every continent and around 2.8 billion people around the world at least one month out of every year. More than 1.2 billion people lack access to clean drinking water.[1]

Water scarcity involves water shortage, water stress or deficits, and water crisis. The relatively new concept of water stress is difficulty in obtaining sources of fresh water for use during a period of time; it may result in further depletion and deterioration of available water resources.[2] Water shortages may be caused by climate change, such as altered weather-patterns (including droughts or floods), increased pollution, and increased human demand and overuse of water.[3] The termwater crisis labels a situation where the available potable, unpolluted water within a region is less than that region's demand.[4]Two converging phenomena drive water scarcity: growing freshwater use and depletion of usable freshwater resources.[5]

Water scarcity can result from two mechanisms:

Because it is a effect of climate change and weather patterns that h ave been altered, increased pollution, and the over use of water, so as long as htese things keep happeneing there will be water shortages

One statement is an example of a scientific observation. Another statement is an example of a scientific explanation. Identify t
a_sh-v [17]

Answer:

2, 4, and 5 refers to scientific revolution while on the other hand, the remaining statements shows scientific observation.

Explanation:

Cloning has the potential to significantly benefit a great many people, so it should not be considered immoral or risky is refers as scientific observation.

A scientist thinks that he might find serious inconsistencies in the fossil record if he conducts an excavation in a new location is refers scientific explanation because explanation is needed for it which can drawn from the scientific observation.

The rocks present in western Africa and eastern South America formed at the same place and at the same time is scientific observation because the scientists takes the data.

Even if modern organisms are found in ancient portions of the fossil record, this wouldn't challenge the theory of evolution in any way is refers to scientific explanation.

The cloning of organisms is an exciting area of study, and more resources should be be devoted to it so it is refers as scientific explanation.

The age, type, and composition of ancient rocks in western Africa are nearly identical to the age, type, and composition of rocks in eastern South America is scientific observation which is taken by the scientist through research.

Eyepiece magnification(EM) X Objective magnification (OM)= Overall Magnification:
gregori [183]

Answer:

I. Overall magnification (TM) = x40

II. Overall magnification (TM) = x100

III. Overall magnification (TM) = x400

IV. Overall magnification (TM) = x1000

Explanation:

A microscope can be defined as an optical device that is typically used to make an enlarged (magnified) image of a minute (small) object and as such reveals all the little information about the object that cannot be seen by the natural human eye.

Mathematically, the overall (total) magnification of a microscope is given by the formula;

Overall magnification (TM) = Eyepiece magnification(EM) X Objective magnification (OM).

I. When EM = x10 and OM = x4

TM = EM * OM

TM = x10 * x4

TM = x40

II. When EM = x10 and OM = x10

TM = EM * OM

TM = x10 * x10

TM = x100

III. When EM = x10 and OM = x40

TM = EM * OM

TM = x10 * x40

TM = x400

IV. When EM = x10 and OM = x100

TM = EM * OM

TM = x10 * x100

TM = x1000

As the gas-charged lava is blown violently into the air, it breaks into small fragments that solidify and fall as either cinders, clinkers, or scoria around the vent to form a cone that often is beautifully symmetrical; with slopes between 30-40°; and a nearly circular ground plan. Adrenergic receptors Select one: a. can be activated by the release of epinephrine. b. have two structural forms - muscarinic an
LekaFEV [45]

Answer:

The correct answer is a. can be activated by the release of epinephrine.

Explanation:

Epinephrine is a hormone and neurotransmitter naturally secreted by the body through the adrenal glands, synthesized and stored in the adrenal medulla and released into the systemic circulation. Epinephrine is a non-selective adrenergic agonist, stimulating alpha1-, alpha2, beta1, and beta2-adrenergic receptors. The systemic actions of catecholamines are mediated by the binding of these compounds to plasma membrane receptors, of the GPCR type widely distributed throughout the body and known as adrenergic receptors, which are activated by the catecholamines adrenaline (epinephrine) and noradrenaline . These receptors cause different effects depending on the G protein subtypes to which they are associated and the signal transduction mechanism linked to the specific G protein.
