As one moves further from the center of the circle, the interpretation is lost on the participants of the circle.
For the purpose of this discussion, a literature circle for students is similar to a book club for adults. A literature circle has greater structure and greater expectations than a book club. Literature circles are a place where students come together to read, study and discuss the books they have read. They inspire critical thinking and collaborative learning. Groups can split and re-form according to reading choices.

The correct answer is A. In "How Old Man Winter Was Driven Back," the change in seasons is shown as a violent battle. In "How the World Was Made," the change in seasons is shown as a natural, peaceful transition.

Explanation:

The two passages in the question present to different myths in the first one or "How Old Man Winter Was Driven Back" tells the way winter ended and for doing this the author describes a struggle between the winter and the agent that ends it describing it as " I, too, am powerful, and I am young! I do not fear you" and the struggle between both "See! Already he begins to send down his arrows". On the other hand, the second passage "How the World Was Made" the change of seasons is described through the trees "Only the cedar, the pine, the spruce, the holly, and the laurel were awake all seven nights" and the way the season changes as some stay awake and other go to sleep.

Therefore, the first myth presented the change in seasons as a violent struggle, while the second myth shows this as a natural transition. Therefore, the difference between these myths is that "In "How Old Man Winter Was Driven Back," the change in seasons is shown as a violent battle. In "How the World Was Made," the change in seasons is shown as a natural, peaceful transition".

criminal defendants must be tried by a jury of their peers, or fellow citizens. is this passive voice or active?
sleet_krkn [62]

Answer: The sentence is in passive voice.

Explanation:

When it comes to passive constructions with modal verbs, the general rule is:

Object + modal verb (can/could/may/must/should/ought to) + be + past participle.

In this case, the object is criminal defendants, followed by a passive construction - must (modal verb) + be + tried (past participle of verb to try).

What internal conflict does the external conflict in this passage
Marizza181 [45]
The answer would have to be option B "Elenita struggles to keep her identities separate." This option seems to be the best fit. It's not option A because she said she DOESN'T want to invite any of her friends over. It's not option C because I dont see anything in this excerpt that has to deal with her father not wanting to return to Puerto Rico. It's also not option D because she's just saying that her friends would die of culture shock if they see her house therefore she's not loosing any faith. So, the answer would have to be option B.

Good luck.
