Read the passage. How soon hath Time, the subtle thief of youth, Stolen on his wing my three and twentieth year! My hasting days

fly on with full career, But my late spring no bud or blossom showeth. Perhaps my semblance might deceive the truth, That I to manhood am arrived so near, And inward ripeness doth much less appear, That some more timely-happy spirits endueth. To what season does the speaker compare his time of life in Sonnet VII by John Milton? early fall late spring late summer autumn

Answer: B) Late spring.

Explanation: In the given passage we can see a man talking about how fast time passes, he calls the time "the subtle thief of youth." He is twenty three years old, and he compares his time of life with late spring ("My hasting days fly on with full career, But my late spring no bud or blossom showeth"), he also thinks that even though he is twenty three, his appearance doesn't seem to be the one of an adult.

What is the most likely reason Rita dove chose to call this poem sonnet
Elodia [21]

The poem has fourteen lines.

Explanation:

Rita Dove is an African-American poet and her poetry is termed American “innovative” sonnet.  The African American sonnet is more of communication rather than a mere display of a poet's technical skills.

For example:  In Rita Dove's Mother Love (1995), the sonnet is the primary element in the poet's combinatorial technique, emphasizing on the mother-daughter relation, calling upon the Greek myth of Demeter and Persephone.

The number fourteen (its half and its double), rather than meter or rhyme scheme, is here the principle that structures the volume's thirty-five poems into seven sections." The numbers 14, 7, and 28 are therefore more than just figures: they play metaphorically with womanhood as a totality that is split into two halves, daughter and mother, and then doubled into two adults as the daughter breaks loose from the mother to live her own life. This is the very theme of the classical myth Dove chooses to revisit, recast into a late twentieth-century drama of loss and regeneration.

What does pink and say teach the reader about the topic? Topic 1:War
damaskus [11]

Answer:

Pink and Say is an important story about two soldiers in the Civil War: Sheldon Curtis (Say), a Union soldier, and Pinkus Aylee (Pink), a Union soldier in the 48th colored regiment. Pink finds Say wounded on a battlefield and pulls him to safety at his mother’s home. During Say’s recovery, Pink and Say spend more time learning about each other and developing a deep friendship. Eventually, the boys are caught and separated, unsure and concerned about the other’s fate. This heartwrenching story will remind families of the brutalities that took place during the Civil War. As your family experiences the account of these soldiers, you will be reminded of the great sacrifices that were made during the war. You and your child will learn more about the conditions of the Civil War, sharing rich discussions about racism, war, service, and friendship.

Which topics would be helpful to consider when generating ideas for an essay on sixteenth-century journeys to the New World? Che
Nana76 [90]

Answer:

B) shipbuilding

C) early discoveries

D) famous explorers

These topics would be helpful when writing about sixteenth-century journeys to the New World. Shipbuilding was a significant element of these journeys, as the countries with better shipbuilding skills were the ones that dominated the oceans. Early discoveries are also significant to discuss, as they often led to increasing the exploration efforts. Finally, the study of famous explorers can help us understand many of the motivations behind exploration. Air travel and satellite technology, however, had not been invented at that point in history.
