Equation for a-2+3=-2

a-2+3 = -2

a+1 = -2

a = -2-1

a = -3

What i did for this problem: a-2+3=-2

Was I took -2 and add 3 which gave me a positive 1 so the problem would be writen like this: a+1=-2. But I'm not done because I have to take the 1 and change it to a -1 reasons cause it would be writen like this: a+1=-2
                                                                                                 -1   -1
I crossed out the two 1's and took -2 - 1 which gave me the answer of a= -3
