(7^2 x 2) x 4

Each time I use "x", I mean multiply

The volume of one pan is 7 x 7 x 2 which is the same as 7^2 x 2
Multiply this by 4 and we get the total volume to be (7^2 x 2) x 4 which is what choice D shows.
