The Free Soilers came to Kansas in the 1800's. They came for several reasons, but the main reason was to ensure that Kansas became a free state. The Free Soilers didn't stay long as a political party and eventually got picked up into the Republican party.

B- To ensure that Kansas voted to become a free state.

Their main purpose was to oppose the expansion of slavery into the Western territories, arguing that free men on free soil constituted a morally and economically superior system to slavery. It also worked to remove existing laws that discriminated against freed African American in states like Ohio.
