We have the following function:
(x)  = 3x - 7
The function f translated 6 units up and 2 units rigth:
6 units up:
y  = 3x - 7 + 6
2 units rigth:
y  = 3(x-2) - 7 + 6
y  = 3x - 6 - 7 + 6
Finally:
g(x)  = 3x - 7

The function f reflected about the y-axis and translated 7 units left:
reflected about the y-axis:
y = 3(-x) - 7
y = -3x - 7
translated 7 units left:
y = -3(x+7) - 7
y = -3x - 21 - 7
y = -3x -28
Finally:
g(x) = -3x - 28

The function f stretched vertically by a factor of 2 and translated up by 5 units:
stretched vertically by a factor:
y = 6x - 14
translated up by 5 units:
y = 6x - 14 + 5
y = 6x - 9
Finally:
g(x) = 6x - 9

 The function f stretched vertically by a factor of 4 and translated up by 9 units:
stretched vertically by a factor of 4:
y = 12x - 28
translated up by 9 units:
y = 12x - 28 + 9
y = 12x - 19
Finally:
g(x) = 12x - 19

Given that our original function is:
f(x)=3x-7

To Match each verbal description to its equivalent function rule we shall proceed as follows:
The function is translated 6 units up and 2 units right.
since f(x) cuts through point (0,-7) the translation will give us the points (2,-7) and (2,-1), since the new line is parallel to the old, the slope will be m=3, thus the equation will be:
y=3x+c
using point (2,-1)
-1=3(2)+c
-1-6=c
c=-7
thus our equation will be:
y=3x-7
thus our new equation is: g(x)=3x-7

b] The function f is reflected about the y-axis and translated 7 units left. when we reflect the function f o y -axis, the new function will be:
y=-3x-7
when we translate this 7 units to the left we shall have:
y=-3x(x+7)-7
thus the final equation is
g(x)=-3x-21-7
simplifying we obtain:
g(x)=-3x-28

c] When f is stretched vertically by a factor of 2 and translated up by 5 units we shall have the following:
when f is stretched, the new function will be:
y=2(3x-7)
y=6x-14
when the above function is translated up by 5 units we shall have:
y=6x-14+5
thus simplifying the above the function becomes
g(x)=6x-9

c] The factor f is stretched vertically by a factor of 4 and translated up by 9 units.
when f(x) is stretched by a factor of 4, the new function will be:
f(x)=4(3x-7)
f(x)=12x-28
when the function is translated up by 9 units, the new function will be:
f(x)=12x-28+9
simplifying the above we get:
g(x)=12x-19

Write a linear function f with the values f (0) =4 and f(3)=-8
Darya [45]

Answer:

Answer:

f(x) = - 4x + 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Step-by-step explanation:

A linear function has the form

f(x) = ax + b, thus

f(0) = a(0) + b = 4, that is

0 + b = 4 , hence b = 4

f(3) = 3a + b = - 8 ← substitute b = 4

3a + 4 = - 8 ( subtract 4 from both sides )

3a = - 12 ( divide both sides by 3 )

a = - 4, thus

f(x) = - 4x + 4

5 kilograms of coffee are going to be shared equally among 4 people.
kherson [118]

Step-by-step explanation:

I'm not sure if this will help but to find out how much coffee 4 people would need you would have to divide 4 into 5 which is 1 1/5

EQUATION-- 4/5= X

I chose that because / means divide 5 into 4 would give you x we don't know what x is until we actually do the problem

Even if im not correct I hope it helped a bit

LOTS OF POINTS ANSWER ASA P , painter is painting a rectangular wall that measures 25.1 ft by 18.5 ft. Each gallon can of paint
svlad2 [7]

Answer:

1.548 gallons

Step-by-step explanation:

Length of the rectangular wall = 25.1 ft.

Width of the rectangular wall = 18.5 ft.

Area of the rectangular wall = length * width = 25.1 * 18.5

= 464.35 square feet

300 square feet wall can be painted using 1 gallon of paint.

=> 1 square feet wall can be painted using \[\frac{1}{300}\] gallon of paint.

=> 464.35 square feet wall can be painted using \[\frac{1}{300} * 464.35\] gallon of paint.

= 1.548 gallons of paint

Given the equation 3x - 4y = 8, which equation below would cause a consistent-dependent system?
Len [333]
3x - 4y = 8

y = mx + b ; m is the slope ; b is the y-intercept

-4y = -3x + 8
y = -3x/-4 + 8/-4
<u>y = 3/4 x - 2</u>

Need to check if the given choices have the same slope.

3x + 4y = -8
4y = -3x - 8
y = -3/4 x - 8/4 = -3/4 x - 2

6x - 8y = 12
-8y = -6x  + 12
y = -6/-8 x + 12/-8
y = 3/4 x - 1 1/2

9x - 12y = 24   This equation would cause a consistent-dependent system
-12y = -9x + 24
y = -9/-12 x + 24/-12
<u>y = 3/4 x - 2</u>

16x + 12y = -10
12y = -16x - 10
y = -16/12 x - 10/12
y = -1 1/3 x - 5/6
