What do you understand by empathy?

Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of one another.

For example, I have trouble showing Empathy towards my family/friends.

Empathy is when you are able to understand and share the feelings of another individual.
And example of when empathy is used is when you see actors in tv. Actors have to have a good sense of empathy so that they can connect with what their character is feeling.
