Remember the associative and commutative properties of multiplcation
ab=ba and (ab)c=a(bc)

also, the exponential rules
(x^m)(x^n)=x^{m+n}

also, scientific notation is a*10^m where 1≤x<10 and m is an integer

therefor

(2.3*10^4) \space\ times \space\ (4.2*10^6)=
(2.3)(10^4)(4.2)(10^6)=
(2.3)(4.2)(10^4)(10^6)=
(9.66)(10^{4+6})=
9.66*10^{10}

Hey can you please help me posted picture of question :)
otez555 [7]
Answer:
The solutions are -3 and -6

Explanation:
First we would need to put the equation in standard form which is:
ax² + bx + c = 0
This can be done as follows:
x² + 18 = -9x
x² + 9x + 18 = 0
By comparison, we would find that:
a = 1
b = 9
c = 18

Now, to get the roots, we would use the quadratic formula shown in the attached image.

By substitution, we would find that:
either x = \frac{-9+ \sqrt{(9)^2-4(1)(18)} }{2(1)} = -3

or x = \frac{-9- \sqrt{(9)^2-4(1)(18)} }{2(1)} = -6

Hope this helps :)

Give your answer in its simplest form.
andrew-mc [135]

Answer:

Is the question to develop the equation for the straight line shown?

If so,<u> y = (3/4)x + b</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

Look for an equation with the form y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept (the value of y when x = 0).

Calculate Slope using the Rise/Run.

Pick any two points.  I chose (-4,0) and (4,6).

Going from left to right:

Rise = (6 - 0) = 6

Run = (4 - (-4)) = 8

Slope is Rise/Run, 6/8 or 3/4

So we have:  y = (3/4)x + b

We can see that the y-intercept, b, is 3 (the value of y when x = 0).

The full equation becomes :<u>  y = (3/4)x + 3 </u>

Select all the possible input-output pairs for the function
mrs_skeptik [129]

Answer:

A.(-1,-1)

E.(4,64)

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that

Function

y=x^3

We have to find all possible input-output pairs for the function.

Substitute x=-1

y=(-1)^3=-1

Then, the pair is (-1,-1)

Now, substitute x=-2

y=(-2)^3=-8

Then, pair is (-2,-8)

Now, substitute x=3

y=3^3=27

Now, substitute x=4

y=4^3=64

Now, substitute x=1

Then, y=1

Hence, Option A and E are true.

A.(-1,-1)

E.(4,64)

Determine the point of intersection between the lines with equations x+3y=5 and 3x−2y=26.
Zolol [24]

Answer:

the ans is :

Step-by-step explanation:

First, it would be helpful to draw a quick sketch of the lines. It helps to visualize the problem.

To find the intersection point, we need to find the point where x and y are the same value in both equations.

The line equations:

6x+2y=26 ................... 1

2x+3y=18 ................... 2

Can be rearranged to the common line equation form: y = mx + c

y = 13 - 3x ................... 3

y = 6 - 2/3 x ................. 4

At the intersection point, y will be equal for both equations. So, we can set 3 equal to 4 and solve for x.

13- 3x = 6 - 2/3 x

13 = 6 + 3x - 2/3x ....... add 3x to both sides

13 = 6 + 2 1/3x ........ simplify

7 = 2 1/3 x ........ subtract 13 from both sides

7 = 7/3 x ......... multiply both sides by 3/7

3 = x

To calculate the y-coordinate substitute x = 3 into 3.

y = 13 - 3x

y = 13 - 3(3)

y = 4

To check your answer, substitute the values for x and y into the other equation, 4.

The point of intersection is (3,4).

If you drew a sketch of the problem, you should be able to see that this point of intersection makes sense.
