I was asked to find the area of a triangle but all I know is that the longest side of the triangle is 13 units, the shortest sid

e is 7 units, the third side is 8 units, and two of the angle measures are 32° and 28°.
How would you solve this problem?

Answer:

24.25

Step-by-step explanation:

  1. let's know what kind of triangle we are dealing with
  • The sum of the degrees of angles in a triangle is = 180

so if both angles given sum up to (32 + 28) = 60, then the other angle is (180 - 60) = 120.

2. Let's draw this triangle    ABC

AB = 13

BC = 7

CA = 8

angle c = 120 degrees

angle b = 32 degrees

angle a = 28 degrees

3. Now, since it's not a right angled triangle

the formula for calculating the area of a non right angled triangle = 1/2absineC

((7*8) sine 120)/2

sine 120 = 0.866

(56*0.866)/2 = 24.25

P.S. check the attached image to know what the triangle looks like

Trapezoid EFGH has the following measurements, where EF is a base and h represents the altitude. EF = 7 cm, FG = 9 cm, GH = 24 c
Reika [66]
From the description we can see that Lines EF and GH are the bases.
The median = the sum of the bases divided by 2.
median = (7 + 24) / 2 = 31/2 = 15.5 cm

Tan^2 70° -sec^2 70°
kipiarov [429]

Answer:

-1

Step-by-step explanation:

We need to find the value of tan² 70° -sec² 70°.

We know that,

\sec^2\theta-\tan^2\theta=1 ...(1)

We can write the given expression as :

tan² 70° -sec² 70° = -(-tan² 70° +sec² 70°)

=-(sec² 70°-tan² 70°)

Using identity (1)

=-(1)

= -1

Hence, the value of the given expression is -1.

Write an equation of the circle with center (2,-3) and radius 8.
Paul [167]

Answer:

(x-2)^2+ (y+3)^2 = 64

Step-by-step explanation:

We can write the equation of a circle as

(x-h)^2+ (y-k)^2 = r^2

Where (h,k) is the center and r is the radius

(x-2)^2+ (y- -3)^2 = 8^2

(x-2)^2+ (y+3)^2 = 8^2

(x-2)^2+ (y+3)^2 = 64

If you have a cubic polynomial of the form y = ax^3 + bx^2 + cx + d and lets say it passes through the points (2,28), (-1, -5),
Marrrta [24]

Answer:

a = 3

b = 2

c = 0

d = -4

Step-by-step explanation:

Form 4 equations and solve simultaneously

28 = a(2)³ + b(2)² + c(2) + d

28 = 8a + 4b + 2c + d (1)

-5 = -a + b - c + d (2)

220 = 64a + 16b + 4c + d (3)

-20 = -8a + 4b - 2c + d (4)

(1) + (4)

28 = 8a + 4b + 2c + d

-20 = -8a + 4b - 2c + d

8 = 8b + 2d

d = 4 - 4b

Equation (2)

c = -a + b + d + 5

c = -a + b + 4 - 4b+ 5

c = -a - 3b + 9

28 = 8a + 4b + 2c + d (1)

28 = 8a + 4b + 2(-a - 3b + 9) + 4 - 4b

28 = 6a - 6b + 22

6a - 6b = 6

a - b = 1

a = b + 1

220 = 64a + 16b + 4c + d (3)

220 = 64(b + 1) + 16b + 4(-b - 1 - 3b + 9) + 4 - 4b

220 = 60b + 100

60b = 120

b = 2

a = 2 + 1

a = 3

c = -3 - 3(2) + 9

c = 0

d = 4 - 4(2)

d = -4
