This development focuses on problem solving, construction of thought processes, remembering, among others. This is followed from a person's childhood to their adulthood.

There are approximately 4 stages of this development in childhood. The stages are formal, concrete, sensorimotor, and preoperational. These are crucial things for a child to develop.

A few examples of impaired cognitive development are listed below:

1.) Having to read directions several times before understanding.

2.) Making mistakes frequently and having trouble when multitasking

3.) The person is easily distracted

4.) Having trouble learning to read
