To go from celsius to fahrenheit, you take the celsius temperature, multiply it by 1.8, and add 32. you could write this as the

equation $f = 1.8c + 32$. find a temperature that's the same in fahrenheit and celsius.

Short answer - 40oC or - 40o F.
Comment
If you live in northern Canada, you are well aware of this oddity. It is quite often experienced in the north.
Solve
The trick is to make one of the letters the same as the other. That is
F = C

C = 1.8C + 32       Subtract 32 from both sides.
C - 32 = 1.8C        Subtract C from both sides.
-32 = 1.8C - C
-32 = 0.8C             Divide by 0.8 on both sides.
-32/0.8 = 0.8 C / 0.8
- 40 = C

So that means - 40C = - 40 F

PLEASE HELP ASAP THE DETAILS ARE BELOW.What is the value of x?
Aloiza [94]

Answer:

x = 30°.

Step-by-step explanation:

The dashes on the three lines indicate that the three lines are of equal lengths. The smaller triangle made out of the three lines (the one with two vertices on the circumference of the circle and one at the center of the circle) is an isosceles triangle. All three of the triangle's interior angles are 60° since it is isosceles.

The line (the one with arrows on its ends) touches the circle at only one point. That line is a tangent to the circle. That line is perpendicular to the segment that connects the center of the circle to the point of tangency. The angle between the two will be 90°.

The largest triangle includes three angles:

  • The angle with the center of the circle as its vertice: 60°;
  • The right angle due to the tangent to the circle: 90°;
  • The angle x°.

What is the value of x?

The three interior angles of a triangle add up to 180°. As a result,

60° + 90° + x° = 180°

x = 180 - 90 - 60 = 30.

A scientist uses a submarine to study ocean life.
klasskru [66]

Answer:

278.2 \: ft

Step-by-step explanation:

Descended feet:

94 \: s \times 3.3 \:  \frac{ft}{s} \:  = 310.2 \: ft

Ascended feet:

32 \: s \times 1 \:  \frac{ft}{s}  = 32 \: ft

Total elevation:

(310.2 - 32) \: ft = 278.2 \: ft

What is the rate of change and initial value for the linear relation that includes the points shown in the table?
defon

The initial value: 25, rate of change: -5 ⇒ answer C

Step-by-step explanation:

The table:

→  x  :    1    :    3    :    5    :    7

→  y  :    20 :    10  :    0    :    -10

The linear relation between x and y is y = m x + b, where

  • m is the rate of change
  • b is the initial value

Let us use the table to find m and b

∵ m=\frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}} , where (x_{1},y_{1})

   and (x_{2},y_{2}) are any two ordered pairs in the table

∵ (x_{1},y_{1}) = (1 , 20)

∵ (x_{2},y_{2}) = (3 , 10)

∴ m=\frac{10-20}{3-1}=\frac{-10}{2}=-5

∵ m is the rate of change

∴ The rate of change is -5

Substitute the value of m in the form of the linear relation

∴ y = -5 x + b

To find b substitute x and y in the equation by the coordinates of any points in the table, let us chose point (5 , 0)

∵ x = 5 and y = 0

∴ 0 = -5(5) + b

∴ 0 = -25 + b

- Add 25 to both sides

∴ 25 = b

∵ b represents the initial value

∴ The initial value is 25

The initial value: 25, rate of change: -5
