The initial value: 25, rate of change: -5 ⇒ answer C

Step-by-step explanation:

The table:

→  x  :    1    :    3    :    5    :    7

→  y  :    20 :    10  :    0    :    -10

The linear relation between x and y is y = m x + b, where

  • m is the rate of change
  • b is the initial value

Let us use the table to find m and b

∵ m=\frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}} , where (x_{1},y_{1})

   and (x_{2},y_{2}) are any two ordered pairs in the table

∵ (x_{1},y_{1}) = (1 , 20)

∵ (x_{2},y_{2}) = (3 , 10)

∴ m=\frac{10-20}{3-1}=\frac{-10}{2}=-5

∵ m is the rate of change

∴ The rate of change is -5

Substitute the value of m in the form of the linear relation

∴ y = -5 x + b

To find b substitute x and y in the equation by the coordinates of any points in the table, let us chose point (5 , 0)

∵ x = 5 and y = 0

∴ 0 = -5(5) + b

∴ 0 = -25 + b

- Add 25 to both sides

∴ 25 = b

∵ b represents the initial value

∴ The initial value is 25

The initial value: 25, rate of change: -5

Solve the simultaneous equation <br> 2x-5y=9<br> 3x+4y=2
Dmitriy789 [7]

Answer/Step-by-step explanation:

2x-5y=9

Add 5y  to both sides of the equation.

2x=9+5y

Divide each term by 2 and simplify.

Divide each term in 2x=9+5y by 2

\frac{2x}{2} =\frac{9}{2} +\frac{5y}{2}

Cancel the common factor of 2.

Divide x by 1.

x=\frac{9}{2} +\frac{5y}{2}

y=\frac{-9}{5} +\frac{2x}{5}

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3x+4y=2

Add 4y to both sides of the equation

3x=2+4y

Divide each term by 3 and simplify.

Divide each term in 3x=2+4y by 3.

\frac{3x}{3} =\frac{2}{3} +\frac{4y}{3}

Cancel the common factor of 3.

Divide x by 1.

x=\frac{2}{3} +\frac{4y}{3}

y=\frac{-1}{2} +\frac{3x}{4}

wolverine [178]

Answer:

53 Meters.

Step-by-step explanation:

34*34 + 41*41 = 2837.

1156 + 1681 = 2837.

The square root of 2837 would be your answer.

34*34 + 41*41 = 53.26349 * 53.26349

a*a + b*b = c*c.

a² + b² = c².
