Theorem: pythagorean

Equation:
{90}^{2}  +  {h}^{2}  =  {180}^{2}
Solving:
{h}^{2}  = 24300
h = 155.9

You have to assume that the height is a standard definition of height. It meets the base at a right angle.

That said, you have a right angle triangle meeting the base at 90o and at the midpoint of the base. The midpoint would be at 90 meters.

Now you can solve the missing side of the right tringle

c = 180
b = 90
h =????

h^2 + b^2 = c^2
h^2 + 90^2 = 180^2
h^2 + 8100 = 32400
h^2 = 32400 - 8100
h^2 = 24300
h = 155.9

Calculate the ending balance of your savings account if you deposit $400 and earn simple interest a 7% for five years.
masha68 [24]
Okay well 7%, changes into 7/100=0.07 and there are 5 years and you have the beginning amount of 400. So 400×0.07=28. 28×5= 140. So add 140 to the be amount, 400+140=$540. Answer is $540.

A boardwalk that is x feet wide is built around a rectangular pond. The combined area of the pond and the boardwalk is 4x^2+140x
Archy [21]
So when X is 0, the area of the pool is 1200. That makes A and C impossible... then you can plug in numbers...say the boardwalk is 1 ft wide, add 2 to each dimension and plug in 1 for X. (You're adding 2 because there is a tile on either side of each dimension, including corners).

32x42=1344=4+140+1200

Therefore the answer is B.

How to find if it is a function or not:
Leto [7]

Answer: It is not a function.

Step-by-step explanation:

A function is something that "eats" an input and transforms it into an output.

We write them as y = f(x)

Where x is the input, and y is the output.

Now, a function has an important rule, for each input x, the function can only "transform it" (or map it) into only one possible output.

This means that, for example, if we have, for x = x1.

And a single

f(x1) = y1

f(x1) = y2

where y1 and y2 are different values.

Then this is not a function, because it is mapping the value x1 into two different outputs.

In this case, we would have:

f(Z) = A.

So Z is the input, but we know that a ZIP code works for an entire city, and in a given city we have lots of different street addresses, then for a single value of the input, Z, we have a lot of possible values of the output.

This means taht the set (Z, A) can not represent a function.
