Theorem: pythagorean

Equation:
{90}^{2}  +  {h}^{2}  =  {180}^{2}
Solving:
{h}^{2}  = 24300
h = 155.9

You have to assume that the height is a standard definition of height. It meets the base at a right angle.

That said, you have a right angle triangle meeting the base at 90o and at the midpoint of the base. The midpoint would be at 90 meters.

Now you can solve the missing side of the right tringle

c = 180
b = 90
h =????

h^2 + b^2 = c^2
h^2 + 90^2 = 180^2
h^2 + 8100 = 32400
h^2 = 32400 - 8100
h^2 = 24300
h = 155.9

eimsori [14]

Answer:

Opening: Opens upwards

Axis of Symmetry: -7/2

Vertex: (-7/2, -81/4)

X - intercepts: (1, 0) and (-8, 0)

Y - intercept: (0, -8)

Step-by-step explanation:

Opening: 'a' is greater than zero

Axis of Symmetry:

\frac{-7}{2(1)} =\frac{-7}{2}

Vertex:

y= (\frac{-7}{2})^{2} +7(\frac{-7}{2}) -8\\y= (\frac{49}{4}) +(\frac{-49}{2}) -8\\y= \frac{49}{4} +\frac{-98}{4} -8\\y=\frac{-49}{4}-8\\y = \frac{-81}{4}

X - intercepts:

(x-1)(x+8)

x = 1 and x = -8

Y - intercept: (0, -8)

y= 0^{2} +7(0) -8\\\\y= -8\\

The graph of f(x) = x2 is translated to form g(x) = (x – 5)2 + 1. On a coordinate plane, a parabola, labeled f of x, opens up. I
Firdavs [7]

The <em>quadratic</em> function g(x) = (x - 5)² + 1 passes through the points (2, 10) and (8, 10) and has a vertex at (5, 1).

<h3>How to analyze quadratic equations</h3>

In this question we have a graph of a <em>quadratic</em> equation translated to another place of a <em>Cartesian</em> plane, whose form coincides with the <em>vertex</em> form of the equation of the parabola, whose form is:

g(x) = C · (x - h)² - k     (1)

Where:

  • (h, k) - Vertex coordinates
  • C - Vertex constant

By direct comparison we notice that (h, k) = (5, 1) and C = 1. Now we proceed to check if the points (x, y) = (2, 10) and (x, y) = (8, 10) belong to the parabola.

x = 2

g(2) = (2 - 5)² + 1

g(2) = 10

x = 8

g(8) = (8 - 5)² + 1

g(8) = 10

The <em>quadratic</em> function g(x) = (x - 5)² + 1 passes through the points (2, 10) and (8, 10) and has a vertex at (5, 1).
