Answer: In case of a river that is flowing over a fault in a perpendicular manner, if earthquake triggers, then it will be affecting the block in such a way that one block will move up whereas the other block will move down.

Due to this shifting of the block, the river channel will also experience an abrupt change in its gradient. The steepness of the river at that point will increase or the river level may also get shrink to a certain extent.

Why a red blood cell burst when placed in water yet an onion epidermal cell does not?
xxTIMURxx [149]

Answer:

Hope it helps

Explanation:

The oncotic pressure inside the cell will be greater than the pressure outside. Thus causing the cell membrane to rupture. If red blood cells are placed in pure water, water enters into the red blood cells by osmosis and the red blood cells swell up and burst while the onion cells would absorb water due to osmosis, swell and become turgid. The cell sap move conc. than surrounding water gate into the cell by osmosis; the cell swells/becomes turgid; but does not burst due to the cell wall.

What would happen to the daughter cells if the g2 phase of the parent cell is shortened?
labwork [276]

Answer:

They would be smaller than their normal size.

Explanation:

The G2 phase of a cell's cycle is where the cell starts preparing itself for the mitosis by producing proteins and growing in size. If the G2 phase of the parent cell is shortened, then the cell is not able to grow as much as it needs but this does not affect the mitosis process, the daughter cells would be much smaller due to the parent cell's size.

I hope this answer helps.
