Answer:

The hydrophilic part of the cell membrane is A, the phosphate head.

Charged molecules, such as K+ or Ca++ are unable to pass through the lipid bilayer because of their charge and must use a membrane protein to cross the cell membrane.

C, the lipid tails, are hydrophobic and repel water.

According to the common scale for grading muscle strength, what rating will be given to a client who can complete range of motio
Mnenie [13.5K]

Answer:

A client who can complete range of motion with some resistance should be rated as grade 4 or 4/5 muscle strength.

Explanation:

The scale used to measure muscle strength is useful in determining conditions that affect the normal function of moving body segments, such as certain neurological conditions or muscle diseases.

The scale assigns a number, from 0 to 5, to evaluate the lesser or greater degree of muscle strength that exists:

  • <em>No movement = 0. </em>
  • <em>Muscle contraction, no movement = 1 (1 </em>
  • <em>Movement in one plane = 2 (2/5) </em>
  • <em>Movement against gravity = 3 (3/5). </em>
  • <em>Movement against a small resistance = 4 (4/5). </em>
  • <em>Normal movement = 5 (5/5).</em>

<u>The client can perform movements against a resistance, so it can be rated as 4/5 muscle strength</u>.

How long does it take for a person's cells to all die after clinical death?
Blababa [14]
Clinical death is the medical term for cessation of blood circulation and breathing, the two necessary criteria to sustain human and many other organisms' lives.

It occurs when the heart stops beating in a regular rhythm, a condition called cardiac arrest.

Brain injuries start to accumulate almost immediately after Clinical Death.

Full recovery of the brain after more than 3 minutes of clinical death at normal body temperature is rare.

Usually brain damage or later brain death results after longer intervals of clinical death even if the heart is restarted and blood circulation is successfully restored.
Although loss of function is almost immediate, there is no specific duration of clinical death at which the non-functioning brain clearly dies.

The most vulnerable cells in the brain, CA1 neurons of the hippocampus, are fatally injured by as little as 10 minutes without oxygen.

However, the injured cells do not actually die until hours after resuscitation.

Brain failure after clinical death is now known to be due to a complex series of processes called Reperfusion Iinjury that occur after blood circulation has been restored, especially processes that interfere with blood circulation during the recovery period.

Hope this helps!!!

The application of evolutionary principles to the study of human variation Group of answer choices allowed scientists to divide
mixer [17]

Answer:

helped replace earlier views based solely on observed phenotypes

Explanation:

The study of human variation has shown that individuals from different populations (previously erroneously considered as geographic races) are often genetically more similar than individuals from the same population. In consequence, the evolutionary approach for understanding human variation has enabled us to discard the biological race concept based solely on observed phenotypes in order to provide a more realistic variation concept associated with evolutionary human development. From this perspective, it has been possible to confirm that 1-there are no human subspecies and 2- the concept of human races is not scientifically suitable to describe human variation.
