T1=1*4-2=2

T2=2*4-2=6

T3=3*4-2=10

T4=4*4-2=14

T5=5*4-2=18

......................

Tn=n*4-2

n*4-2=86

n*4=88

n=88/4

n=22

86 is T22  in  the sequence.

Yes, 86 is a term in the sequence because the sequence is adding by 4. If your add 4 you will eventually get to 86
