Please use "^" to denote exponentiation. "x2" doesn't cut it.

Simplify: 3.5x^2+9(7.1+0.5)+4

We must carry out operations in a certain order. Here, you must do any operations within parentheses first, followed by exponentiation, followed by mult. and div., followed by add. and subtr.

Thus, we get 3.5x^2 + 9(7.6) + 4

... which comes out to 3.5x^2 + 31.5 + 4

Cannot do anything further with 3.5x^2; all we can do is to add 31.5 and 4:

3.5x^2 + 35.5 (answer)

(Solving Equations) Ken has $20.00. Coffee costs $4.79 per pound. Which equation will calculate the number of pounds of coffee,
aev [14]

Answer: A. 4.79(n)=20.00

Step-by-step explanation:

we need to find what amount of coffee (per pound) is equivalent to $20.00

so we take the unknown amount (n) and multiply it by $4.79

for example, say Ken wants 4 pounds, we need to know if it is equivalent to $20.00

so take 4.79 and multiply it by 4 to see if it is equal to or less than $20.00 in this case $4.79 x 4 = $19.16

hope this helps (^_^)
