A police officer was called to a small apartment building after neighbors noticed that the woman in Apartment 6B had not been se

en for days. On entering the apartment, the officer noticed a set of handcuffs and a whip, but the apartment appeared otherwise unremarkable. There was no evidence of struggle, and everything appeared to be in its place, but the woman remained missing. Several weeks later, a high school student taking a shortcut through the rear parking lot of a shopping center noticed a foot sticking out of the shrubbery. He called the police, and the dead woman was soon identified as the woman from 6B.

seropon [69]

Maturation is a threat to internal validity stemming from either long-term or short-term physiological changes occurring within the participants that may influence the dependent variable.

What are physiological changes?

Ageing causes physiological changes in all organ systems. Arteriosclerosis develops, blood pressure rises, and cardiac output declines. Lung function is compromised, vital capacity is reduced, and expiratory flow rates are slowed.

Pregnancy causes a number of physiological changes in the mother, such as an increase in fat and total body water, a drop in plasma protein concentrations, particularly albumin, an increase in blood volume, cardiac output, and blood flow to the kidneys, and a decrease in blood pressure.

Explain why you feel like it was important for the pilgrims to write the mayflower compact
Reptile [31]

The Mayflower Compact was important for a number of reasons.

First, it kept mutiny at bay.

But it was also a good first step as the new colonists figured out what rules they wanted to live by.

By setting up a system with majority rule, they ensured that there would always be consensus for decisions and would ensure that everybody would win some and everybody would lose some. The system would feel fair as they faced tough years ahead.
