A law firm is going to designate associates and partners to a big new case. The daily rate charged to the client for each associ

ate is $600 and the daily rate for each partner is $1100. The law firm assigned a total of 10 lawyers to the case and was able to charge the client $8000 per day for these lawyers’ services. Determine the number of associates assigned to the case and the number of partners assigned to the case.

Answer:

<u>The number of associates = 6  and the number of partners = 4</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

let the number of associates = x

let the number of partners  = y

The law firm assigned a total of 10 lawyers

∴ x + y = 10

∴ y = 10 - x ⇒ (1)

$8000 per day charged for these lawyers, The daily rate charged to the client for each associate is $600 and the daily rate for each partner is $1100.

∴ 600x + 1100 y = 8000 ⇒ (2)

By substitute from (1) at (2)

600 x + 1100 (10 - x) = 8000

solve for x

600 x + 11000 - 1100 x = 8000

-500 x = -3000

x = -3000/-500 = 6

At (1) to find y

y = 10 - 6 = 4

<u>So, the number of associates = 6  and the number of partners = 4</u>

What is the volume of the composite figure? Express the
Papessa [141]

Answer:

V=312\pi\ mm^{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The volume of the composite figure is equal to the volume of a semi-sphere plus the volume of the cone

so

V=\frac{4}{6}\pi r^{3} +\frac{1}{3} \pi r^{2} h

we have

r=6\ mm

h=14\ mm

substitute

V=\frac{4}{6}\pi (6)^{3} +\frac{1}{3} \pi (6)^{2} (14)

V=144\pi +168\pi

V=312\pi\ mm^{3}

The angle of depression from the hot-air
BlackZzzverrR [31]

Answer:

3497.47 feet

I think it's the answer because when you look where I've drawn...that's where the angle of depression is and 6600 is the hypotenuse, so you use the sine method where you have opposite over hypotenuse

\sin(32 = opposite \6600)

and you'll get your answer as 3497.47

Need help finding the domain and range
pogonyaev

Here are a few things you'll need to know for this question:

  • Domain: <u>The list of x-values that are possible on a line.</u>
  • Range: <u>The list of y-values that are possible on a line.</u>
  • Interval Notation: <u>Shows the domain/range using the endpoints</u>. Brackets mean that the endpoint is included, parentheses mean the endpoint is excluded. Ex: (2,10]. 2 is excluded, 10 is included.
  • Closed Circles: <u>The endpoint is included.</u>
  • Open Circles: <u>The endpoint is excluded.</u>

So firstly, let's look at the domain. We see that there is a closed circle at x = -2 and an open circle at x = 5. Using what we know, <u>the interval notation of the domain is [-2,5).</u>

Next, let's look at the range. We see that there is a closed circle at y = -5 and an open circle at y = 2. Using what we know, <u>the interval notation of the range is [-5,2).</u>

Shaneen has $30 to spend on CDs that each cost $10. She wants to calculate n, the number of CDs she can buy with her $30. Which
weqwewe [10]

Answer:

10n \le 30

n \le 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Total = \$30

Cost (each) = \$10

Required

Determine the inequality

Assume she wants to buy n CDs.

If 1 CD costs $10, then n CDs costs 10n.

So, the inequality is:

10n \le 30

<em>We used </em>\le<em> because the amount she wants to spend cannot exceed 30</em>

Divide both sides by 10, to solve for n

n \le 3
