A plane left Chicago at 8 A.M. At 12 P.M., the plane landed in Los Angeles, which is 1,700 miles away.
DaniilM [7]

Commercial passenger flights always list the time AT THE PLACE where
the event took place.  The data you gave in your question means that the
flight departed ORD at 8:00 AM Central (Chicago) Time, and arrived LAX
at 12:00 PM Pacific (Los Angeles) time.

Since the trip spanned two time zones, it was actually in the air for 6 hours.

Average speed = (distance) / (time to cover the distance)

                         = (1,700 miles) / (6 hours)  =  (283 and 1/3) miles per hour.

====================================

But that wasn't what you had in mind, was it.

You meant that the flight took 4 hours.

In that case, the average speed was

                   (1,700 miles) / (4 hours)  =  425 miles per hour.

This is a much more reasonable average speed for a long haul
passenger jet airliner.

Determine sun or difference <br> -3 1/3 + 2 2/5
Artist 52 [7]

Answer:

-14/15

Step-by-step explanation:

First, you want to turn each mixed number into an improper fraction. So you get -10/3 + 12/5. Then you want to get the same denominator, and the LCD happens to be 15. You get -50/15 + 36/15. Addition is commutative, so you can do something like this: 36/15 - 50/15. You can do 36-50=-14, and then add the denominator to get -14/15.

Se polar coordinates to find the volume of the given solid. the solid above the xy-plane that lies below the ellipsoid 4x2 + 4y2
eimsori [14]
\begin{cases}x=\frac12r\cos t\\\\\frac12r\sin t\end{cases}\implies 4x^2+4y^2+z^2=64\iff z^2=64-r^2

Call the region D. Then

\displaystyle\iiint_D\mathrm dV=\int_{t=0}^{t=2\pi}\int_{r=0}^{r=2}\int_{z=-\sqrt{64-r^2}}^{z=\sqrt{64-r^2}}r\,\mathrm dz\,\mathrm dr\,\mathrm d\theta
=\displaystyle4\pi\int_{r=0}^{r=2}r\sqrt{64-r^2}\,\mathrm dr
=\displaystyle-2\pi\int_{r=0}^{r=2}\sqrt{64-r^2}(-2r\,\mathrm dr)
=\displaystyle-2\pi\int_{r=0}^{r=2}\sqrt{64-r^2}\,\mathrm d(64-r^2)=\left(\dfrac{2048}3-16\sqrt{15}\right)\pi\approx197.887
