month every other year. The tables show the data for two of the trees.
This is the final year in which she will collect data. When her data collection is complete, she will predict future red maple tree growth. The scientist plots the data for tree 2 on a coordinate grid.

Dana's phone has zero battery. After charging her phone for 1 minute, it has
zzz [600]

From the first two inference, it takes her phone 1 minute to charge 2% i.e 1 minute of charge = 2% of battery.

Therefore; charging from scratch,

1 min = 2%

x mins = 50%.

using cross multiplication,

x mins = (50% × 1 min) ÷ 2%.

x = 25 mins.

For 90%, applying the same formula,

y min = (90% × 1 min) ÷ 2%

y = 45 mins.

So from zero percent, it will take Dana's phone 25 minutes to charge to 50% and 45 minutes to charge to 90%.

0.25 multiplied by 0.4 the answer says 0.1 how do I get that I tried it doesn't come out the same
Ede4ka [16]
You could do it as if they were fractions
.4 equals 4/10 which equals 2/5
.25 equals 25/100 which equals 1/4
2/5 times 1/4 equals 2/20
2/20 equals 1/10
1/10 equals .1
.1 is correct

You could also multiply decimals like this:
1.Multiply them together like full numbers
4 times 25 equals 100
2.Move the decimal in three times because the decimal .4 is moved in once and .25 is moved in twice so when you add them you get three
The answer would be .1 or .100 (it doesn't make a difference because you cross out any zeros at the end of a decimal Ex: .12300 equals .123 but .123001 stays .123001)
