Above the real axis means positive imaginary axis. Left of the imaginary axis means negative real axis.
If you look at a picture of the 2 axes, you can easily see that any complex number with the real term being less than zero, or negative, and the imaginary term being greater than 0i, or positive, will meet these two requirements. A few examples might be 3i - 2, 8i - 100, or 200i - 0.1
