In the first column of the second page, several men attempt to stage a revolt against the Nazis, but a number of the older men beg their children not to do anything. Why do you think they do this? Do you think it was wise for their children to listen?

Explanation:

The men became overwhelmed by the happenings around them and could barely bare them again, so in an attempt to overcome them they planned out a revolt which will lead to the beginning of their freedom. The older men were afraid and being cautious of their children endangering themselves in the revolt hence they told them not to do anything.

Although its wise for the children to follow their parents instruction but the men need the aid of  everyone to carry out this and the greater percentage of those that would have made it more meaningful were the children being warned.
