WHY must the same operation be performed on both sides of an equation?

Answer:When you are given a problem, the two sides are equal, so they are equally weighted. As long as you do the same thing on both sides, they remain the same weight. The only way that one side can become "more weight" on a side is if you make a math mistake, and thus the answer would not satisfy the original equation

Step-by-step explanation:looked it up... have a good day!

Please help me, I don’t know how to solve for x on this one
Brums [2.3K]

Use trigonometry to solve for x.

The tangent function is defined to be opposite side divided by the adjacent side.

tan(78) = x/10

tan(78)(10) = x

47.0463010948 = x

We now round off to two decimal places. In other words, we round off to the nearest tenths.

47.05 = x

Brett warmed up for his basketball game by running around the court 3 times . If the court is 84 feet by 50 feet, how many feet
lana [24]

Answer:

804 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Dimension of a basketball court is 84 feet by 50 feet.

Considering the shape of basketball court is in rectangle shape.

∴ Finding the perimeter of rectangle to know total number of feet in one round.

Perimeter of rectangle= 2(l+w)

where, l= length

           w= width

∴ Perimeter of rectangular court= 2(84\ feet + 50\ feet)

⇒ Perimeter of rectangular court= 2(134\ feet)

Opening parenthesis

⇒ Perimeter of rectangular court= 2\times 134\ feet= 268\ feet

Hence, Brett run 268 feet in one round of warm up.

As given, Brett ran around the court 3 times.

∴ Total number of feet= 268\ feet\times 3= 804\ feet

Hence, Brett jog for 804 feet.
