1) Zoe's town
April = 5 7/8 inches
May = 2 1/8 inches less than in April

5 7/8 ⇒ ((5*8)+7)/8 = 47/8
2 1/8 ⇒ ((2*8)+1)/8 = 17/8

47/8 - 17/8 = 30/8 ⇒ 3 6/8 ⇒ 3 3/4 inches rainfall in May.

April rainfall : 5 7/8 inches
May rainfall : 3 3/4 inches

Greatest Prime number less than 50 is 47. So, 47 students plus 3 teachers. There is a total of 50 people going on the trip.

1,354 ounces of paint ÷ 6 ounces per jar = 225.66 jars or 226 jars

The length of a rectangular garden is 3 yd less than twice its length. The perimeter of the garden is 78 yd. What are the width
Alenkasestr [34]

Complete question :

Answer:

Width = 14 yards ; length = 25 yards

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that :

The length of a rectangular garden is 3 yd less than twice its length. The perimeter of the garden is 78 yd. What are the width and length of the garden?

Width of garden (W) = w

Lenght of garden (L) = 2w - 3

Perimeter of a rectangle : 2 (L + W)

2(2w - 3 + w) = 78

2(3w - 3) = 78

6w - 6 = 78

6w = 78 + 6

6w = 84

w = 14 yards

Length = 2(14) - 3

Length = 28 - 3 = 25 yards

X+2y=8
2x-y=1
mathe question
Ira Lisetskai [31]

Answer:

x = 2 and y = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

We have

x+2y = 8 -----equation (i)

2x-y = 1 -----equation (ii)

Now,

x+2y = 8

or, x = 8-2y ------equation (iii)

Again,

2x-y = 1

or, 2x = 1+y

or, 2x-1 = y

Putting the value of 'x' from equation (iii)

or, 2(8-2y)-1 = y

or, 16-4y-1 = y

or, 16-1 = y+4y

or, 15 = 5y

or, y = 15/5

or, y = 3

Putting the value of 'y' in equation (iii)

x = 8-2y

or, x = 8-(2×3)

or, x = 8-6

or, x = 2

Therefore, x = 2 and y = 3.
