it possible that the net kinetic energy for two objects be zero while the net momentum is zero? Explain.

Of course. That's what you have when both objects are at rest. I'm guessing that you left a word out of the question, and it actually says that the net kinetic energy is NOT zero. In that case, the answer is still 'yes', but you have to think about it for a second.

When three identical bulbs of 60W,200V rating are connected in series at a 200V supply the power drawn by them will be?
Law Incorporation [45]

Answer:

P = 180 [w]

Explanation:

To solve this problem we must use ohm's law, which is defined by the following formula.

V = I*R & P = V*I

where:

V = voltage = 200[volts]

I = current [amp]

R = resistance [ohm]

P = power [watts]

Since the bulbs are connected in series, the powers should be summed

P = 60 + 60 + 60

P = 180 [watts]

Now we can calculate the current

I = 180/200

I = 0.9[amp]

Attached is an image where we see the three bulbs connected in series, in the circuit we see that the current is the same for all the elements connected to the circuit.

And the power is defined by P = V*I

we know that the voltage is equal to 200[V], therefore

P = 200*0.9

P = 180 [w]

An ideal gas, initially at a pressure of 11.2 atm and a temperature of 299 K, is allowed to expand adiabatically until its volum
Tju [1.3M]

Answer:

The pressure is  P_2  =  4.25 \ a.t.m

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The initial pressure is P_1  =  11.2\ a.t.m

   The  temperature is  T_1 =   299 \ K

Let the first volume be  V_1 Then the final volume will be  2 V_1

 Generally for a diatomic  gas

           P_1 V_1 ^r  =  P_2  V_2  ^r

Here r is the radius of the molecules which is  mathematically represented as

    r =  \frac{C_p}{C_v}

Where C_p \ and\ C_v are the molar specific heat of a gas at constant pressure and  the molar specific heat of a gas at constant volume with values

     C_p=7 \  and\   C_v=5

=>   r =  \frac{7}{5}

=>  11.2*( V_1 ^{\frac{7}{5} } ) =  P_2  *  (2 V_1 ^{\frac{7}{5} } )

=>   P_2  =  [\frac{1}{2} ]^{\frac{7}{5} } * 11.2

=>  P_2  =  4.25 \ a.t.m

A 66-kg fellow stands on a digital scale in an elevator that accelerates upwards from rest to 4.5 m/s in 2.00 s. show answer Inc
Nina [5.8K]

Answer:

Explanation:

mass of the fellow ( m ) = 66kg

acceleration of fellow a

v = u + at

4.5 = 0 + a x 2

a = 4.5 /2

= 2.25 m / s²

Net force acting on fellow in upward direction by the surface of  elevator

R - mg where R is reaction force of the surface of the elevator

Applying Newton's law of motion

R - mg = ma

R = m (g +a )

= 66 x ( 9.8 + 2 )

= 778.8 N

This will be the scale reading .
