Let u_n represent the number of bacteria after n months.

u_0=2 is the original number of bacteria

u_1=2*3=6

u_2=2*3*3

u_3=2*3*3*3

so it is clear that :

u_n=2* 3^{n}

After 24 months, there will be u_2_4=2* 3^{24} many bacteria.

Answer:

the equation:
u_n=2* 3^{n}, where u_n is the number of bacteria after n months,

u_2_4=2* 3^{24}

Write the equation for the line that is parallel to y=2/3x-5 and goes through the point (-12/2)
tatyana61 [14]

Answer:

I put the equation into Point-Slope Form and got:

y - 2 = 2/3(x + (-12))

Distribute the 3 to the numbers on the left:

3y - 6 = 2(x - 12)

Multiply the Parenthesis by 2:

3y - 6 = 2x - 24

Add 6 to the right side:

3y = 2x - 18

Divide both sides by 3:

y = 2/3x - 6 is the answer :)

What is the answer to this quadratic equation? <br> X^2 -26x +195=51
antoniya [11.8K]

Answer:

Either   x=18                  or       x=8

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the answer to this quadratic equation, we will follow the steps below:

X² -26x +195=51

Subtract 51 from both-side of the equation

X² -26x +195-51 =51 - 51

X² -26x +144 = 0

comparing the above  with the standard equation

ax² + bx + c=0

a = 1  b = -26   c= 144

Using the quadratic formula

x = -b ± √b² - 4ac /2a

x = -(-26) ± √(-26)² - 4(1)(144)   /2(1)

x = 26  ± √676 - 576   /2

x = 26  ± √100   /2

x = 26  ± 10   /2

Either  x= 26+10  /2        or    x =26-10  /2

Either  x =36/2               or      x=16/2

Either   x=18                  or       x=8

(03.06 MC)The volume of two spheres is shown: Sphere A = 40 cubic inches Sphere B = 10 cubic inches How many inches more is the
dem82 [27]

0.8 inches

the volume (V) of a sphere is calculated using the formula

V = \frac{4}{3}πr³

change the subject and express in terms of r

multiply both sides by 3

3V = 4πr³ ( divide both sides by 4π )

r³ = 3V / 4π ( take the cube root of both sides )

r = ∛( 3V /4π )

sphere A with V= 40

r = ∛ (120 / 12.56 ) = 2.122

sphere B with V = 10

r = ∛(30 / 12.56 ) = 1.337

sphere A - sphere B = 2.122 - 1.337 = 0.8 inches ( to nearest tenth )
