So the notebook costs 1.50 and then add in the cost of pencils which would be p (for the number of pencils) times $0.25. And the entire costs have to be less than or equal to $6.00. So the equation would look like this:
1.50 + 0.25p = 6.00
Solve for p:
4.50 = 0.25p
p = 18
Ted can buy 18 pencils and one notebook with his $6.00.

The mass of a species of mouse commonly found in houses is normally distributed with a mean of 20.2 grams with a standard deviat
Sophie [7]

Answer:

12.1%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Mean (μ) = 20.2 grams and standard deviation (σ) = 0.18 grams.

The z score is a score used to determine the number of standard deviations by which the raw score is above or below the mean. A positive z score means  that the raw score is above the mean and a negative z score means that the raw score is below the mean. It is given by:

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}

a) For x < 19.99 g:

z=\frac{x-\mu}{\sigma}\\\\z=\frac{19.99-20.2}{0.18} \\\\z=-1.17

From the normal distribution table, P(x < 19.99) = P(z < -1.17) = 0.1210 = 12.1%

The probability that a randomly chosen mouse has a mass of less than 19.99 grams is 12.1%

Math 7a using number sense to solve equations
Anika [276]
Simple...

you have: \frac{n}{3} =12&#10;

and

\frac{n}{3} =-12

To solve for....\frac{n}{3} =12

Multiply to remove the denominator-->>

3*  \frac{n}{3} =12*3

n=12*3

n=36

Then-->>>

\frac{n}{3} =-12

Do the same thing-->>

3* \frac{n}{3} =-12*3

n=-12*3

n=-36

Thus, your answer.

How many solutions does the system of equations below have?<br><br> y= 3x + 4<br> 2y -8 = 6x
Cerrena [4.2K]

Answer:

infinitely many solutions (infinite solutions)

Step-by-step explanation:

2y - 8 = 6x

   +8    +8

-------------------------------

2y = 6x + 8

\frac{2y}{2} = \frac{6x}{2} + \frac{8}{2}

-------------------------------

y = 3x + 4

Because 3x + 4 = 3x + 4, there are infinitely many solutions to this system of equations. This is because they're the exact same equations. Any substitution for x will give you a true statement to y when compared to the other equation.
