A clock has sixty minutes for every one rotation. One full rotation has 360°. Knowing this, we can set up a ratio:
\frac{60min}{360} = \frac{6min}{36} =  \frac{1min}{6}
So, for every 1 minute, a clock hand moves 6°.

Next, all we have to do is multiply the number of minutes by 6°:
9min*6degrees=54degrees \\ 35min*6degrees= 210degrees \\ 45min*6degrees=270degrees

So:
In 9 minutes, a clock-hand moves 54°
In 35 minutes, a clock-hand moves 210°
In 45 minutes, a clock-hand moves 270°

Hope this helps!

Answer:

y=9

Step-by-step explanation:

Test the claim that the proportion of men who own cats is smaller than the proportion of women who own cats at the .10 significa
nata0808 [166]

Answer:

The  test statistics is t  =   -1.40

  The critical value is  Z_{\alpha }   = 2.33

   The null hypothesis is rejected

Step-by-step explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The sample size for men is n_1 = 80

    The sample proportion of men that own a cat is \r p _M = 0.40

     The sample size for women is n_2 = 80

     The sample proportion of women that own a cat is \r p_F = 0.51

     The level of significance is \alpha = 0.10

   The  null hypothesis is  H_o  :  \r p _M   =  \ r P_F

    The alternative hypothesis is  H_a  :  \r p _M  <  \r p_F

Generally the test statistic is mathematically represented as

        t  =    \frac{(\r p_M - \r p_F)}{\sqrt{\frac{(p_M*(1-p_M)}{n_1 } }  +  \frac{p_F*(1-pF)}{n_2 } }

=>  t  =    \frac{(0.40  - 0.51)}{\sqrt{\frac{(0.40 *(1-0.41)}{80} }  +  \frac{0.51*(1-0.51)}{80 } }

=>   t  =   -1.40

The critical value of \alpha from the normal distribution table is

     Z_{\alpha }   = 2.33

The p-value is obtained from the z-table ,the value is

    p-value =  P( Z < -1.40) =   0.080757

=>    p-value = 0.080757

Given that the p-value < \alpha then we reject the null hypothesis

Please help me with this.
Andrej [43]
a_{n} = +(n-1)d

We are given the first term and the common difference.

So,

a_{1}=-10 \\ \\ d=5

Using these values in the given equation, we get:

a_{n} =-10+(n-1)*5 \\  \\
a_{n} = -10 + 5n - 5 \\  \\
a_{n} = 5n -15

So, option C gives the correct answer.

How do you do this?Can you help me with the steps? I don't really get this a lot
polet [3.4K]
Before you do the steps, change the fractions given to improper fractions:
2 2/3 = 8/3
3 1/6 = 19/6

Now, I think the first step they want you to write is:
8/3 (divided by) 19/6

When you divide two fractions, it's the same as multiplying the first fraction by the reciprocal of the second fraction. (A reciprocal is a fancy way of saying you flip the fraction)
So the next step will look like this:
8/3 x 6/19

With this setup, you can cross simplify the fractions so that they look like this:
8/1 x 2/19
When you multiply this, you get 16/19
