(4 - 1) / (- 1 - 0)

- 3 is the slope.

Now plug this into slope-intercept form y = mx + b

y = - 3x + b

Use either of the points to find the b variable

1 = - 3(0) + b
1 = 0 + b
1 = b

Your equation is y = - 3x + 1

Rate of change is the same as slope so your rate of change is - 3. 

The y-intercept is the "b" in slope-intercept form so your y-int is 1.
