Simma Qian is renown for having written the great history of ancient China during the Han Dynasty. It covers almost 2,500 years, from the Yellow Emperor until Emperor Wu of Han. The records compiled by Sima Qin served of reference for other historical documents in the next dynasties. His father, Sima Tan, was the one who initiated with the recollection of information but he died. So his son, Sima Qian, continued and finished with the project.
