the rectangular floor measure 1200 mm x 1000 mm

each carpet tile measure is 40 cm by 30 cm-----> is equal to 400 mm x 300 mm

Divide

1200/400=3 carpet tile

1200/300=4 carpet tile

1000=400+300+300

therefore

the answer in the attached figure
