You can use PEMDAS to solve order of operations!

Which means, "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally".

P= Parenthesis

E= Exponents

M= Multiplication

A= Addition

S= Subtraction

Here is an example of how to solve order of operations:

1×1+2-(12-1)

First: (12-1) = 11

Second: 1×1=1

Third: 1+2=3

Fourth: 3-11=8

The answer would be 8.

Solve the system of equations:
y = x + 2
y = x2 + 5x + 6
HELP PLZ
soldier1979 [14.2K]

Answer:

x=2(twice)

y=0(twice)

Step-by-step explanation:

This question can be solved using substitution method

So let's solve

y=x+2....(1)

y=x2+5x+6....(2)

Substitute (1) into(2)

X+2=x2+5x+6

Collect like terms

X2+5x-x+6-2=0

X2+4x+4=0

X2+2x+2x+4=0

X(x+2)+2(x+2)=0

(X+2)(x+2)=0

X+2=0

Substrate 2 from both sides

X=-2

X+2=0

X=-2

Let's substitute the value of x into (1)

y=x+2

y=-2+2

Y=0(twice)

4x-y=10 as coordinates with the y as -6
IgorC [24]

Answer:

(1,-6)

Step-by-step explanation:

4x - y = 10

4x -(-6) = 10

4x + 6 = 10

    - 6    - 6

4x = 4

/4    /4

x = 1

(x, y) -> (1,-6)

Check your answer:

4x - y = 10

4(1) - (-6) = 10

4 + 6 = 10

10 = 10

This statement is correct

Hope this helps!

What is the common ratio for the geometric sequence?
Helen [10]
Note this pattern: Mult. 24 by (-1/4) produces -6.
                              Mult -6 by (-1/4) produces 6/4 = 3/2
                             Mult. 3/2 by (-1/4) produces 3/8

Looks as though you copied the problem down incorrectly. You wrote 32 for 3/2 and -38 for -3/8.

The common ratio is -1/4.
