In The tragedy of Macbeth, three witches give a prophecy to Macbeth (a Scottish general) saying that he will be King of Scotland. Ambitiously influenced by his wife, they planned on killing the king and taking the throne to himself. Although just before putting the plan to work, he started to fell suffocated by the guilt he will carry saying:

"Will all great Neptune's ocean wash this blood

Clean from my hand? No, this my hand will rather

The multitudinous seas in incarnadine,

Making the green one red."

Meaning that <u>even the numerous, or </u><u>multitudinous</u><u> (</u><u>letter A</u><u>) seas, will not wash off his guilt.</u>

Even so, his wife managed to bring him back to plan, murdering the king, putting the guilt of it on others and becoming the king himself.

Answer: Macbeth says that even the numerous, or <u>multitudinous </u>seas, will not wash off his guilt.

Explanation: In Act 2, scene 2, and after murdering Duncan, Macbeth expresses that he feels extremely guilty for the crime he has committed. He says: "Clean from my hand? No, this my hand will rather /The multitudinous seas incarnadine /Making the green one red." Therefore, what he intends to express is that <u>not even the vast water from the seas will be able to wash the blood from his hands or to make him clean again.</u>

According to our textbook, the _____________________ is a reoccurring theme or motif found throughout the book of Ecclesiastes.
sveta [45]

Answer:

Remembering God, life under the sun, sovereignty of God, wisdom and enjoyment of life.

Explanation:

The <u>Book of Ecclesiastes is the 21st book in the Old Testament of the Holy Book</u>. It contains 12 chapters, all of which have the recurring themes of life's meaninglessness and the sovereignty of God.

From the very first chapter of the book, the author, King Solomon delves into how <u>meaningless human life is without God</u>. He stresses the life of man under the sun, where all things seem meaningless unless living with God. He also focuses on the need to remember God and his great nature, his ever providing nature. He states in Chapter 2: 24-25, <em>"A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?"</em> In chapter 6:2, he says <em>"God gives some people wealth, possessions and honor, so that they lack nothing their hearts desire, but God does not grant them the ability to enjoy them, and strangers enjoy them instead. This is meaningless, a grievous evil"</em>. And in chapter 8:17, he states <em>"I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun"</em>.

Describe the children's favorite landscape. Why do you think Bradbury chose this
abruzzese [7]

Answer:

The children's favorite landscape depicts a blazing African savannah with deadly animals.

Explanation:

I think Bradbury chose this landscape as a reflection of the children's violent minds. It shows what is really going on behind their innocent exterior and helps the reader understand a little what the children are thinking of without being overly obvious about it. It affects the reader because it sets an ominous mood that foreshadows a violent ending. With a happier setting, the mood would not imply impending doom and the outcome of the text would seem extremely abrupt.

*Hey! I hope this helps! If you need evidence you can put it when you explain what their favorite landscape is : )*
