Well Susan has run 18 blocks

So every 2 blocks is 1 minute

2 x 9 = 18 so far 9 minutes

Now the remainder is 42 blocks

20 blocks is 10 minutes

20 x 2 = 40 blocks in 20 minutes

Then the last 2 blocks is 1 minute so

20 + 1 = 21 minutes

vodomira [7]

In math, "of" almost always means "times".

"The property" is 7/8 acre.

So "1/4 of the property" means "1/4 times 7/8 acre".

1/4 x 7/8 = (1 x 7) / (4 x 8)

That's 7/32 .

Mr. Lopez hasn't plowed up anything yet, but his plan is to plow up 7/32  acre for his garden.

sergeinik [125]

Answer:

0.6517

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that in a certain game of chance, your chances of winning are 0.3.

We know that each game is independent of the other and hence probability of winning any game = 0.3 (constant)

Also there are only two outcomes

Let X be the number of games you win when you play 4 times

Then X is binomial with p = 0.3 and n =4

Required probability

= Probability that you win at most once

= P(X\leq 1)\\=P(X=0)+P(X=1)

We have as per binomial theorem

P(X=r) = nCr p^r (1-p)^{n-r}

Using the above the required prob

= 0.6517
