If you mean this:
x + 3 = 12

then for finding the answer you should just put -3 on both sides and you will get 9 for your answer!

Happy Thanksgiving :)

Analyze the table below and answer the question that follows.
lora16 [44]

Answer:

C. Events E and A are independent

Step-by-step explanation:

we will verify each options

(a)

We can use independent events formula

P(B∩C)=P(B)*P(C)

we are given

P(B)=0.4

P(C)=0.25

P(B∩C)=0.05

now, we can plug these values into formula

and we get

0.05=0.4*0.25

0.05=0.1

we can see that left side is not equal to right side

so, this is FALSE

(b)

We can use independent events formula

P(D∩A)=P(D)*P(A)

we are given

P(D)=0.25

P(A)=0.6

P(D∩A)=0.1

now, we can plug these values into formula

and we get

0.1=0.25*0.6

0.1=0.15

we can see that left side is not equal to right side

so, this is FALSE

(c)

We can use independent events formula

P(E∩A)=P(E)*P(A)

we are given

P(E)=0.5

P(A)=0.6

P(E∩A)=0.3

now, we can plug these values into formula

and we get

0.3=0.5*0.6

0.3=0.3

we can see that both sides are equal

so, this is TRUE

(d)

We can use independent events formula

P(D∩B)=P(D)*P(B)

we are given

P(D)=0.25

P(B)=0.4

P(D∩A)=0.15

now, we can plug these values into formula

and we get

0.15=0.25*0.4

0.15=0.1

we can see that left side is not equal to right side

so, this is FALSE

by the definition of suplementary angles Angle 1+angle 2=______and angle 2+angle 3=_______ than angle 1+ angle 2+ angle 3 by the
SVETLANKA909090 [29]

Answer:

By the definition of supplementary angles, angle 1 + angle 2 = 180° and angle 2 + angle 3 = 180°. Then angle 1 + angle 2 = angle 2 + angle 3 = 180°. Subtract angle 2 from each side. You get angle 1 = angle 3, or angle 1 ≅ angle 3.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Complete/Correct Question Reads:

By the definition of supplementary angles, angle 1 + angle 2 = _____ and angle 2 + angle 3 = ____ . Then angle 1 + angle 2 = angle 2 + angle 3 ______. Subtract angle 2 from each side. You get angle 1 = ______, or angle 1 ≅ ______.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

By definition we know that if the Sum of Two Angles is Equal to 180° then the angles are Supplementary.

Now looking at the schematic we can see that our Supplementary angle pairs are:

 • m∠1 and m∠2
 • m∠3 and m∠2

So let us start solving.

m∠1 + m∠2 = 180^{o}

m∠3 + m∠2 =180^{o}

Then, we have

m∠1 + m∠2 = m∠3 + m∠2 =180^{o}

So subtracting m∠2 from each side we have:

m∠1 + m∠2 - m∠2 = m∠3 + m∠2 - m∠2

m∠1 = m∠3 OR m∠1 ≅ m∠3

So your paragraph will be:

By the definition of supplementary angles, angle 1 + angle 2 = 180° and angle 2 + angle 3 = 180°. Then angle 1 + angle 2 = angle 2 + angle 3 = 180°. Subtract angle 2 from each side. You get angle 1 = angle 3, or angle 1 ≅ angle 3.
