What is the derinition of subsidize

English
2 answers:
Fed [463]4 years ago

Basically to pay money in support of something. more specifically, to pay some of the cost of production to make something cheaper for the buyer. the most common example of this is us government subsidies--the state gives money to farmers producing basic commodities (corn, wheat, etc.), which in turn lowers the price of buying those commodities. this may seem like a great idea, but we end up paying that extra money anyway in the form of taxes--whether we use those products or not. this also makes un-subsidized farmers' (usually ones in mexico or other central american countries) goods more expensive.

2. Metaphor. The sentence is comparing a bridge to an eye without the use of like or as.
3. I’m not sure on this one. Maybe metaphor (glass bowl to a hill).
4. Likely a simile. This sentence is comparing the bride to a fan while using like.

Read the passage.
navik [9.2K]

ABOUT CHILDHOOD:-

The brain of the child is the home of dreams, of castles, of visions, of illusions and of delusions. In fact, there could be no childhood without delusions, for delusions are always more alluring than the fact. Delusions, dreams and hallucinations are a part of the warp and woof of childhood
