we are given that

f(x) is defined for all values of x except at x=c

Limit may or may not exist

case-1:

If there is hole at x=c , then limit exist

case-2:

If there is vertical asymptote at x=c , then limit does not exist

Examples:

case-1:

\lim_{x \to c} \frac{x^2-cx}{(x-c)}

We can simplify it

\lim_{x \to c} \frac{x(x-c)}{(x-c)}

=\lim_{x \to c} x

=c

so, we can see that limit exist and it's value defined

case-2:

\lim_{x \to c} \frac{1}{(x-c)}

Left limit is

\lim_{x \to c-} \frac{1}{(x-c)}

=-\infty

Right Limit is

\lim_{x \to c+} \frac{1}{(x-c)}

=+\infty

so, we can see that left limit is not equal to right limit

so, limit does not exist

zubka84 [21]

Answer:

  rule: f(n) = n³

  missing numbers: 125, 216, 343, 512, 729

Step-by-step explanation:

Your familiarity with the cubes of small integers helps you recognize each of these numbers is a cube. Their sequence is the sequence of cubes of increasing natural numbers.

  1 = 1·1·1 = 1³

  8 = 2·2·2 = 2³

  27 = 3·3·3 = 3³

  64 = 4·4·4 = 4³

__

The rule is ...

  f(n) = n³

The cubes of 5 through 9 will complete the set of numbers ...

  1, 8, 27, 64, 125, 216, 343, 512, 729

A point in rectangular coordinates is given. Convert the point to polar coordinates. Round your answers to two decimal places.
postnew [5]

Answer:

(√74, 54.46°)

Step-by-step explanation:

The rectangular coordinate point is given as; (5, 7)

Now, converting rectangular coordinates to polar coordinates is done by;

(r, θ)

Where, r is the magnitude while θ is the angle

r = √(5² + 7²)

r = √74

tan θ = (7/5)

θ = tan^(-1) 1.4

θ = 54.46°

Thus,polar coordinate is; (√74, 54.46°)

Felicia put $8500 into a CD that pays 2.8% interest compounded semiannual. According to the rule of 72, approximately how long w
maksim [4K]
<span>25.7 years The rule of 72 is a simple approximation on how long it will take to double your money. You simply divide 72 by the interest rate and you'll have your estimate on the number of years it will take. So 72 / 2.8 = 25.7 years. To demonstrate that it's just an estimate, you can take the log of 2 and divide by the log of 1.028 to get the exact value. This far more complicated calculation gives the result of 25.1 years. And to be honest, the estimate of 25.7 years is more than close enough for such an quick and easy rule of thumb.</span>
