Cross multiplying

4(x+2) = 4(y-1)

4x + 8 = 4y -4

4x +4y = -4 -8

4x + 4y = -12

y = -x -3

The slope intercept form of line is:

y = mx + b

where m is the slope. Comparing with y = -x-3
