I think Sea otters are an iconic species, representing the beauty and diversity of marine life found along California’s coastline. They’re also considered a keystone species because of their critical importance to the health and stability of the nearshore marine ecosystem. They eat sea urchins and other invertebrates that graze on giant kelp. Without sea otters, these grazing animals can destroy kelp forests and consequently the wide diversity of animals that depend upon kelp habitat for survival. Additionally, kelp forests protect coastlines from storm surge and absorb vast amounts of harmful carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Sea otters are also considered a sentinel species because their health reflects that of California’s coastal waters.

makkiz [27]

The cross between Dd egg-snail and a dd s snail mate will result in snails with genotype 1/2 Dd:1/2 dd and phenotype all right-coiling.

What is a genotype?

The genotype refers to the allele combinations that can be found for one or more loci in an individual.

The phenotype refers to how the genes and alleles interact to produce a physical trait in an organism.

In this case, one parent can produce two types of gametes (D and d), whereas the other parent can only produce d gametes.

Ksju [112]

Nicotine, once in the brain, will work specifically on nicotinic receptors in the brain. However, there is a common "addiction" pathway in the brain that pretty much all addictive substances go through.

Summarize why the pyramid of energy can never be inverted like the pyramids of numbers and biomass can.
Art [367]
Base on one of the Law of Thermodynamics, the amount of available energy decreases whenever energy is changed in form (which includes a transfer from one trophic level to another). So, as we go from the first trophic level to the top trophic level, the amount of available energy becomes less and less.
