When I worked it out, I got this.

30 tens=300

3 tens= 30

3 tenths = .3

So 300-30.3= 269.7

We are given the expression 30 tens - 3 tens 3 tenths. In this case, a number proceeded by "tens" means that the number is multiplied by 10 while "tenths" means that the number is divided by 10. In this case, 30*10 - 3*10*3/10 equal to 300 - 9 or 291.

Basically the first thing you're going to have to do is move the y's to one side of the equal sign.  To do this you can either add 0.3y to both sides of the equation OR subtract 0.7y from both sides of the equation.

Not much work is required to solve this I believe.... B) c= 40+170m because..... Well the fee to hook is already 40.. and you're trying to figure out the miles it was towed... the price per mile is $1.70... So you would have to multiply the money per mile and miles (m) hope this help (idk if I'm making any sense or if this is right let's hope lolll :)
