Answer:

The correct answer is second stage of non-rem sleep.

Explanation:

The NREM of the non-rapid eye movement sleep, also called the quiescent sleep comprises three stages of sleep. In NREM, there is little or no movement of eye witnessed in any of the three stages, which is dissimilar to REM sleep.

In the second stage of NREM sleep, no movement of eyes is witnessed, and dreaming is very rare. The sleeper can get awaken quite easily. In the stage, the electroencephalogram readings demonstrate sleep spindles, that is, the brief bursts of high-frequency activity of the brain, and K-complexes.

The second stage is where the brain waves become larger and punctuated with occasional sudden bursts of electrical activity. In this stage the eyes are not able to respond to light. Non-rem sleep has 3 stages. The first stage is the twilight zone which is between full wakefulness and sleep and the third stage constitutes the most profound state of unconsciousness.

"the term normally applied when two genes fail to assort independently is ________."
IgorC [24]
LINKAGE

Independent assortment refers to the allele segregation of two different genes. They are expected to be segregated from each other independently. This is not seen in monohybrids, they are usually heterozygous for an allelic pair only. Link genes cannot assort independently. These are inherited together during meiosis phase of sexual reproduction. Usually genes that are close together will tend to stick together resulting into inheritance of genes as pairs.

Ahat [919]

On Earth's surface, less direct and less intense solar radiation are received by the poles.

Answer: Option 2

Explanation:

Various parts of Earth's surface get different measures of sunlight. The part which is closer to the sun receives more radiation than the part which is far away.

The Sun's beams strike Earth's surface most directly at the Equator as it is near to the sun when compared to the poles in which it strikes the surface at an inclination.
