How do I solve 11x=24+8x

Well what you need to do is combine the like terms (11x and 8x) so they are on the same side. So I would subtract 8x and what you do on one side you have to do on the other so it would be after you subtract 8x from 11x 3x=24 and to get x by itself you have to divide by 3 so x=8

11x-8x=3x
3x=24
3x/3x=24/3
the threes cancel out. x=24/3
Then divide... x=8
8 is your answer!
