How did later groups of immigrants, like the Italians, the Polish, and the Jewish were treated when they came here in the 1900s.
anzhelika [568]
Later groups of immigrants, like the Italians, Polish, and the Jewish were treated very poorly when they came to the US in the 1900s. Many immigrants were funneled into urban ghettos, areas with poor living quarters resulting in high levels of death and disease. By the 1920s, the United States was reeling from its involvement in World War I and entered a period of isolationism. This was marked partly by a withdrawal from world affairs, but also a negative view on immigrants entering the country. In the early 1920s, the US passed the Immigration Quota Act which restricted the number of immigrants allowed to enter the country. President Warren G Harding's election based on a "return to normalcy" reflected the idea that Americans disliked immigrants who maintained cultural and linguistic ties to their homelands.

Which of the following best describes the kinds of people who became<br> indentured servants?
Mashcka [7]

The correct answer is C. Europeans who could not afford to pay for a trip to America.

Explanation:

As colonization began in America, many Europeans wanted to travel to the newly discovered continent and began a new life. However, many of them could not afford the trip to America that was expensive during that time. Due to this, many agreed to become servants of wealthy colonizers that owned land, which was known as Indentured Servitude. This means wealthy colonizers paid the trip for some Europeans and in exchange those Europeans became servants. Additionally, over time this was considered as a type of slavery but servants were free after a certain amount of years of servitude. According to this, indentured servants were mainly "Europeans who could not afford to pay for a trip to America."
