Joseph Stalin believed he needed absolute authority in the USSR in order to unite the country and make it strong. From his perspective, the appropriate ideology for putting Communism on the top was based on promoting the construction of socialism in a united country.
Due to this ideological arguments, Stalin defeated Trotsky and gained the absolute power in Russia. Once he was on the power, he implemented bloody repression and really violent tactics, which at the end helped him to turn out Russia into a worldwide economic and military potency.
Anti-federalists apposed the constitution because they felt as if it gave one man too much power. They also thought it took too much power away from the states because it limited state's rights.
