Answer: Origin of replication is the site/ sequence in the genome of organisms from where the process of DNA replication is started. At first, the two strands are separated that is unwinding of double helix occurs with the help of an enzyme called helicase at this site ( origin or replication).

Due to this, a replication fork is formed and the process of replication is started.
