(2x^2-x-6)/x^2-4

Factor top and bottom and you get

(2x+3)(x-2)/(x+2)(x-2)

The (x-2) cancel out each other leaving,

(2x+3)/x+2

The domain is all real numbers EXCEPT for -2. The domain can never be -2 as it would to the bottom having a zero, and that can't happen

Shane wrapped the kite with paper. How many square inches of paper did Shane use to cover the front and back? 45 POINTS
arsen [322]

Answer:

576

Step-by-step explanation:

First off, we can use the area of a kite formula, (D1*D2)/2 to get the area of one side of the kite, which is simplified to 18 * 32 : which gets us 288. But because we are looking for the area of the front and back side, we multiply 288 by 2- getting the final answer of <u>576</u>.

Find an equation for the plane that is tangent to the surface z equals ln (x plus y )at the point Upper P (1 comma 0 comma 0 ).
alexira [117]

Let f(x,y,z)=z-\ln(x+y). The gradient of f at the point (1, 0, 0) is the normal vector to the surface, which is also orthogonal to the tangent plane at this point.

So the tangent plane has equation

\nabla f(1,0,0)\cdot(x-1,y,z)=0

Compute the gradient:

\nabla f(x,y,z)=\left(\dfrac{\partial f}{\partial x},\dfrac{\partial f}{\partial y},\dfrac{\partial f}{\partial z}\right)=\left(-\dfrac1{x+y},-\dfrac1{x+y},1\right)

Evaluate the gradient at the given point:

\nabla f(1,0,0)=(-1,-1,1)

Then the equation of the tangent plane is

(-1,-1,1)\cdot(x-1,y,z)=0\implies-(x-1)-y+z=0\implies\boxed{z=x+y-1}

Write 4^3 – 6x + 2^5 + 3 in standard form please
lara31 [8.8K]

Answer:

2^5 + 4^3 – 6x + 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Order the numbers by decreasing exponents. Start with the 2^5, since it has an exponent of 5. Next is the 4^3 since it has an exponent of 3. After that is -6x since it has an exponent of 1. 3 is last because it has an exponent of 1 and it has no variables attached.
