R=rate of boat in still water
c=rate of current
d=rt
since you're given that the time it takes to travel the same distance downstream and upstream, your equation will be d_1=d_2, or rt=rt
the rate upstream is r-c and the rate downstream is r+c (because the boat's and river's rates add up)
since you know t_1 and t_1 are 5 and 3, you can now set up 2 equations
5*(r-c)=45 because (time upstream)*(rate upstream)=distance=45 miles
r-c=45/5=9
3*(r+c)=45
r+c=45/3=15
r-c=9 and r+c=15, so r=12 mi/h and c=3 mi/h

Enter the number that belongs in the green box
OLga [1]

Answer:

x=96°

y=96°

Step-by-step explanation:

y=84° because of vertical angles. the measure of all 4 angles added together is 360°, so we add the 84° and the other 84° angle, and subtract them from 360° to get the sum of the other two angles

360°-(84°+84°)=192°

divide 192° by 2 to get the measure of one angle

therefore, x=96°

Regular quadrilateral pyramid with base edge b=55 mm and lateral edge l = 7cm. Find the sum of all edges
egoroff_w [7]

Answer:

50cm or 500mm

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 4 base edges and 4 lateral edges, therefore, multiply the number for both edges by 4 and add.

Considering the fact that we were given two units of measurement, millimeters and centimeters, but we know that there are 10mm (millimeters) in a cm (centimeter) , we can just divide 55 by 10 to get 5.5.

¦

Therefore;

5.5 x 4 = 22

7 x 4 = 28

28 + 22 = 50cm

The diagram can be drawn in order to assist in answering the question.

Simplify the following 3√28-5√63+4√112
alexandr402 [8]

7√7

using the ' rule of radicals '

• √a × √b ⇔ √ab

simplifying the radicals

√28 = √(4 × 7 ) = √4 × √7 = 2√7

√63 = √(9 × 7) =√9 × √7 = 3√7

√112 = √(16 × 7 ) = √16 × √7 = 4√7

substituting into the expression

3(2√7) - 5(3√7) + 4(4√7) = 6√7 - 15√7 + 16√7 = 7√7
