I really had to do mental math this would be my thought process

$100, eight percent of if would be 8 dollars

Then I'll figure out how much is ten percent of $10 which is $0.8 and add 0.8 + 0.8 together to get 8 percent of $20

Then I'll add it all together

8 + 1.6 = 9.6

120 + 9.6 = $129.6

If you can do this mentally then do this equation below

120 x 1.08 = $129.6

Calculate the (modeled) probability P(E) using the given information, assuming that all outcomes are equally likely.
Luba_88 [7]

The probability P(E) is 13/15.

According to the statement

we have given that the S = {1, 3, 5, 7, 9}, E = {1, 5, 7}

And we have to find the probability P(E).

So, For this purpose

Recall the formula for the probability of an event E in case when all outcomes are equally likely:

P(E)= n(E) /n(S)

in which S is the sample space.

But we have the S = {1, 3, 5, 7, 9},

so, n(S) = Sum of all outcomes / number of outcomes

n(S) = 1+3+5+7+9 /5

n(S) = 25 /5

n(S) = 5 and

For n(E) = Sum of all outcomes / number of outcomes

n(E) = 1+5+7 /3

n(E) = 13 /3

n(E) = 13 /3

Substitute these values in the above written formula then

P(E)= n(E) /n(S)

P(E)=  (13/3)/ 5

P(E)= 13 /15

So, The probability P(E) is 13/15.

Help. IM SO LOST ON THIS! ;(
castortr0y [4]

Answer:

1. 4\frac{2}{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

For question 1, you need to know the ratio between the recipe and the amount in question.

So if in the recipe, it says it uses 3/4 cup of diced ham, and the question uses 1 cup of diced ham, you can divide 1 by 3/4 to get 4/3. This is how many times bigger the amount used in the question than the recipe.

Then it asks for how many cups of potatoes, to do this, you look at the recipe and how many potatoes it uses: 3.5 cups

To solve it then, you just do 3.5 x 4/3 to get 4\frac{2}{3} cups of potatoes

There's your answer.
